DESCRIPTION
Immersive media is an effective tool to augment the information and agency of professionals in distinct areas, faced with the challenge of increased intelligent systems and distributed workspaces. The participants will be able to design and prototype Augmented and Virtual Reality solutions for applications with a focus on health and well-being.
From the use of game engines for developing interactive applications, to the design and development of immersive environments, the participants will gain understanding of the processes related to design and development of immersive media solutions, acquiring skills to master related technologies, and to evaluate its efficacy.
This course is a second edition of this summer school, that was first hosted in the University of Hamburg in July 2023, and will be hosted by the University of Porto, Portugal.
“Imagine a new type of internet where you can meet your friends, study, work or even walk among performers at the opera or sing along with your favourite artist, all in an immersive, virtual world. Virtual worlds are becoming more and more sophisticated with better and clearer images and more life-like avatars. By 2030, many people will be using them daily.”
